Summary
Map Update•
The map has details under every pin as to how to enter the property and access blinds. The pins are color coordinated, based on blind location.
RED- Permanent blind
BLUE- Water hole with no blind
YELLOW- This year we have placed grass a frames on a few properties outside the front entrance. This is due to some of the blinds not being able to defend themselves against hungry cows. They have a strap on them and are very light, they can be pulled on your way in and dropped at your hunting location. Please remember to bring back out on your way out. The yellow pins mark these locations.
For this season our scouting report will be a rating system rather than bird counts. When posting bird counts alone, we weren’t taking into consideration all of the other variables. This system will be 1-5 with 5 as the best rate for success. We factor in weather conditions, wind, access, pressure, history, and many other variables. This should help you more than a solid bird count.
There are notes in your Google map on each property that describes where blinds and access is.
Please remember if our scouting to be courteous to your fellow club members. While we all enjoy going out and looking for ducks, it’s an easy way to ruin a hunt if we are jumping birds the day before while scouting. Try not to get close enough to make the birds leave.
UPDATED January 28, 2021
PLEASE BE READY FOR WET CONDITIONS THIS WEEKEND AND PLAN ACCORDINGLY. WE RECEIVED A LOT OF RAIN LAST WEEK. DO NOT DRIVE INTO HUNTING SPOTS WHEN WET.
We have a few birds around right now, this front this week is expected to be a big one with some decent rain and snow. Hoping we get a good push to finish strong.
